So, uh, ouch....

First day of the workout and holy crap, my abs hurt for a whole week! So, I took the week off. And I'm going to start again, with less fire, easing my way into it. I'm thinking about doing my regular pilates routine and throwing in a small amount of the crunches.

The first work out calls for 3 sets of 20 reps of 10 different ab exercises focusing on upper, lower+obliques, and all(upper/lower/obliques) and good Lord that's a bitch. 600 crunches to start off, good thing I only did 200 b/c I was SO sore!

I cant believe I used to do an extra 500 2x a day on top of all that craziness! No wonder my waist-line was 23.5" NOT WORTH IT! ouch.

I will try to get Justin to take my picture soon and I will measure myself as soon as I start up this week. I've been putting on the lbs recently too, so I guess that will make the end results more dramatic.

Fitness & Tanning

This book got me into stellar shape for Ben and Jennie's wedding and I think I'm going to give it another go. I'm also going to start tanning this year. I haven't really tanned since 7th grade, and that was 15 yrs ago. I guess I will need to take some before and after pics.

I'm not sure which workout in the book I'm going to go with. There are 3 different plans, 1 month, 3 months and 6 months. I think I did the 3 month last time and had fab results. I also did about 500 crunches in the morning and before bed in conjunction with this book, and sometimes during the day, for a month. I'm not sure if I will have that kind of dedication, being that I'm a mama now. But, if I want to be a "hot mama" I will have to. ha. I will be doing the "at home program" because I just cant afford a gym right now, and honestly don't think I would have the time to go with Justin's crazy schedule. I should also note, my goal is not to lose weight, but to tone.

Here is one of the recipes from the book, you will LOVE this!

Strawberry granola fruit parfait

6 oz low fat vanilla yogurt
5 strawberries, sliced
1/4 c blueberries
1/2 c granola

layer in a cup and gobble it up!!

(measurements/pic/weight to come in next entry)

Alfredo Sauce

Alfredo Sauce

This week I will be trying a new Alfredo Sauce since mine is lacking much in awesomeness. This is the recipe. I'm not a big fan of Parmesan cheese though, so I hope I like it.

Chicken Sheperds Pie

So, there was no recipe for this, but I felt like being creative and trying new things, so this is what I came up with.

Bottom layer, Veggies!:

Sautee in a skillet with 2T of EVOO:

1 leek, chopped and cleaned
2 celery stalks, coarsely chopped
1 chinese eggplant, coarsely chopped
5 cloves of garlic, chopped
3 small carrots, chopped into circles
6 button mushrooms, chopped
S&P

Middle Layer, Chicken:

in skillet from veggies(with all the brown bits left over):
cook 1 lb ground chicken
S&P
When chicken is 99% done, deglaze pan with 1/2C chardonnay.

Top Layer, Potatoes:

2 lbs mashed potatoes mixed with a nice handful of chopped fresh parsley
top with cheddar cheese

Bake at 350F for 25 min.

A small step towards Vi's toddler bed.

Crib & toddler bed sheets

This pattern popped up on my facebook page today and I thought I would store it away for later use.

It looks SUPER easy to make.

I have been planning on making my own toddler sheets out of a set of twin sheets because toddler bedding is expensive for some reason. Plus, they're either Disney(ug), or ridiculously expensive.

She can have the disney or character sheets when she's in her twin or full sized bed. (Justin and I haven't decided on the bed size yet. I'm thinking twin because its easier to find twin bedding)

Cheryl Fisher, MIA

So, where have I been?

I haven't been blogging because I've been spending all my efforts and time with my business. I'm working on flyers/postcards/business cards/licensing right now, and when I'm done with all of that, I need to research software, create a website, create a facebook page(why not), buy clothes, and for goodness sake get my rear in gear! It also wouldn't hurt to have a babysitter on call.

Anyway, I've got lists galore and I've pushed back my open date to May 24th... :( Which I'm pretty upset about, though I feel like I will be pushing it back at least 1 more time.

So, as far as I'm concerned, blogging is at the bottom of my priorities for now.

I did make some really yummy food recently. I've not even scratched the surface with Violet's quilt and lately I feel like I've thrown "be a good wife and mother" right out the window.. :(
